Almost 110 candidates in eleven categories and one winner per category at the end. Those were the basic data of this year’s Innovation Award which was awarded by the internationally acclaimed technical media LABORPRAXIS, PROCESS and PharmaTEC on the 19th of June 2012 during the Achema for the fifth time. The professional jury presented prizes to the winners at an official ceremony on the second evening of the fair which was attended by about 200 guests. Prizes were awarded for the most innovative equipment and processes for the chemical, pharmaceutical and process industries. “The large number of candidates again this year demonstrates impressively how innovative process equippers are and how they secure a good market position for themselves with highly interesting further developments and innovations,” the publisher Gerd Kielburger underlined in his speech.
The criteria for the award were the degree of innovation, the quality as well as the efficiency and the economy for users. GEA Westfalia Separator Group won the prize in the “Mechanical Processes” category with its new decanter in the ecoforce series. With this decanter platform GEA Westfalia Separator Group has designed a series of multifunctional machines which ensure maximum availability, high throughput capacities and excellent separating efficiency. At the same time they satisfy the user’s desire for maximum possible flexibility. The new ecoforce decanter generation uniquely unites excellent performance with low energy consumption, can be set individually and optimally to the specific application and also enjoys the advantages of a user-friendly service for best possible availability.
