Westfalia Separator at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2007

Hybrid solutions optimize the winemaking process

Westfalia Separator combines the advantages of decanters and separators with those of cross-flow filtration with ceramic elements. These hybrid solutions permit continuous polishing right down to the colloid range without using filter aid.

Through the concept of modern solids management, Westfalia Separator Food Tec GmbH recognises that solid/liquid separation is increasingly determining the quality of the end product and the cost-effectiveness of the entire process chain. To achieve this, Westfalia Separator is consistently pursuing a policy of combining the centrifuge and membrane filtration as an extension of mechanical separation technology. At NTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA  Westfalia Separator has now presented such hybrid solutions for sustained optimisation of the winemaking process.

Westfalia Separator combines the advantages of decanters and separators with those of cross-flow filtration with ceramic elements. These hybrid solutions permit continuous polishing right down to the colloid range without using filter aid.

The intelligently combined technologies of centrifugation and cross-flow filtration with ceramic elements and the related customized design for red wine, white wine and rosé wine also increase the wine yield, availability and the cost-effectiveness of the entire process chain.

Besides the increase in quality and the reduction in costs. a further clear benefit for the user is the line competence of Westfalia Separator Food Tec: every separating duty is solved from a single source and suppoted throughout its life cycle.
