PROFI® functions in all applications

Kieselguhr-free filtration convincing on all continents

PROFI® is the kieselguhr-free filtration which genuinely functions in practise.

GEA Westfalia Separator achieved the final market break-through with PROFI® filtration several years ago. Meanwhile, a total of 16 PROFI® installations are convincing on all continents which filter a total volume of approx. 34 million hl per year. Global operations clearly demonstrate that the combined PROFI® separator/membrane filter process from GEA Westfalia Separator/Pall Food & Beverage not only achieves the primary development target of completely replacing kieselguhr. PROFI® filtration is also a more than attractive investment proposition when looked at from a variety of aspects.

The arguments of customers in favor of PROFI® are as diverse as the benefits of PROFI®They range from beer quality, cost-effectiveness and dust-free operation as well as low water consumption, high degree of automation and continuous operating mode right through to the utilization of normal brewery cleaning agents as well as a high level of flexibility – top-fermented, bottom-fermented, all-malt, fruit beer, high-gravity and light beer and even cider have already been successfully filtered. In addition, a wheat beer can also be run through a separator to adjust turbidity levels in a reproducible manner.

In brief: PROFI®is the kieselguhr-free filtration which genuinely functions in practise and which reliable meets agreed performance and consumption parameters. This is due to a crucial point: because PROFI®relies on the separator which always reduces the strain on the separator.

As a pioneer in the field of beer clarification, GEA Westfalia Separator can look back on 100 years of beer separation in 2009. The first separator was installed in a brewery in Vienna in 1909 by the predecessor firm of GEA Westfalia Separator. 100 years of beer separation means a 100 year successful track record. A success story which was not written by chance. It is rather the result of a constant further development of GEA Westfalia Separator. Today, centrifugal separation technology is the first choice in more and more brewery applications.
