High capacity – low costs: the new high-performance dewatering decanter achieves high throughput capacities with a reduced energy requirement.
With the new decanter for environmental protection applications presented at IFAT 2008 for the first time, Westfalia Separator has succeeded in constructing a high-performance dewatering decanter with fundamentally improved performance and considerably reduced service and operating costs, building on the already optimised and successful cdforce concept.
The result is impressive (also visually). A high-performance dewatering decanter has been developed for use in municipal and industrial environmental protection; with its wide range of new features and its new design, this machine is the basis for new machine development. The most striking aspect is the modern design.
The special rotor geometry of the new environmental decanter combined with the high rotor speed guarantees the high throughput capacity of more than 35 m³/h, which means it covers the mid-range performance range within the decanter family of Westfalia Separator. The robust gear itself generates high scroll torques for optimum dewatering; these remain constant even at high differential speeds.
Despite the high throughput capacity and the sharply increased torque, the specific energy requirement is lower than 1 kW/m³. The new environmental decanter is also available as a mobile unit for test purposes and impresses on-site in the municipal or industrial waste water treatment plant.
