New clarifier for wine and fruit juice

GEA Westfalia Separator at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2010

In must and fruit juice clarification, the GSE 100 machine developed by GEA Westfalia Separator and presented for the first time at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2010 delivers a capacity up to 10,000 l/h, in wine clarification capacities even reaching 20,000 l/h.

GEA Westfalia Separator has developed a new separator of the GSE series for the clarification of wine, grape must and fruit juice. In must and fruit juice clarification, the GSE 100 presented for the first time at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2010 delivers a capacity of up to 10,000 l/h, in wine clarification capacities even reaching 20,000 l/h. The GSE 100 rounds off the Westfalia Separator® hyvol® product line in the medium capacity range and supplements the slightly smaller GSE 75 machine already on the market. The Westfalia Separator® hyvol®  GSE series stands for high throughput capacities. The machines additionally fulfil several tasks. They can operate as clarifiers as well as polishers.

Thanks to the self-cleaning bowl, the machine is suitable for fully automatic cleaning-in-place. Opening and closing of the bowl for ejecting the solids is done hydraulically by means of water. The feed and discharge are designed to suit the application but are incorporated in a closed line system. This reliably minimizes oxygen intake. The product feed and product discharge in the bowl are hydrohermetically sealed and not equipped with mechanical gaskets. The use of such a hydrohermetic feed minimizes the negative impact of the shear forces. The separating efficiency and product quality are consequently optimal. A further feature of all the Westfalia Separator® hyvol® machines are the very fast ejection valves. They keep product losses as low as possible during separator ejections.

The optional equipping of the machine with the Westfalia Separator® wewatch® system enables permanent monitoring of bearing condition and running characteristics as a basis for a targeted preventive maintenance.
