Maintenance and Repair as an Adaptive System

In Germany alone, more than 140 billion euros are spent every year for maintenance and repair, around six percent of GDP. These figures do not however incorporate the most important part of the lifecycle costs of an installation which have a direct correlation to service expenditure: the breakdown and standstill costs. Experts estimate that these costs can be three to four times higher than the maintenance costs. For many years now, GEA Westfalia Separator Group has not focused exclusively on "the machine" or "the service" but has put the entire lifecycle of the centrifuge in the centre of concentration, i.e. plant investment, maintenance and consumption of resources.

The newly presented serv&care goes a step further and presents itself as a holistic concept. With the introduction of serv&care GEA Westfalia Separator Group is in future abandoning inflexible concepts or fixed packages. Due to the immense operational  economic  significance, 
GEA Westfalia Separator Group is concentrating on plant availability - without neglecting aspects such as optimized service life of the plant or continuous improvement of the machines.  Services, organisation and capacities of serv&care have been conceptually designed as an adaptive system with the ability to learn. Users have access to individual modules and specialties or also complete, modular service solutions. Standard modules are naturally still available but as part of a modular system kit. serv&care stands for customized, need-based services.  The goal is always individually tailored service arrangements which take into consideration customer requirements across the whole parameter spectrum and which are contractually agreed.
