GEA Westfalia Separator has established a new technology centre in Oelde

Separators, decanters and membrane filters of GEA Westfalia Separator are being successfully employed in more than 2500 practical applications. In order to enable this huge pool of knowledge to be used even more efficiently for the benefit of the customer, GEA Westfalia Separator is now installing a technology centre for process development in Oelde. The main feature of this new technology centre is the Central Process Technology department (ZVT) which has already been used very intensively and which will be extended to include the fields of process and application machine optimisation. The objectives for the technology centre are clearly formulated: To combine the process and machine know-how of the business units and to make this know-how available for new processes and machines. The customer benefits from the more rapid and more cost-effective development and implementation of individual solution concepts. The aim of application machine optimising is to use the knowledge of the designers, the market experts of all business units to offer the customer the right technical solution for a specific application subject to attractive financial terms. And separators, decanters and membrane filters enjoy absolutely equal priority in this respect.

This additional benefit in terms of tasks and responsibility will also be “physically” tangible in future. As part of the programme of investments in Oelde, a completely new and much larger technology centre will be created in the course of the next few years, with separate areas for customer trials, internals trials, machine trials, a laboratory sector, a training centre and a customer centre. In this way, we are gradually putting together a centre of competence which focuses the global know-how of GEA Westfalia Separator and the entire GEA Group on the benefit for the customer.
