Compact decanters for industrial and municipal waste water treatment plants

The CD-Force from Westfalia Separator Umwelttechnik

Westfalia Separator, is using the TerraTec in Leipzig to present the dewatering decanter UCD 345 on the GEA joint stand in hall 3. With a bowl diameter of 340 mm and a dewatering capacity of up to 15 m³/h, it closes a gap in the new CD-Force range of products and is used in this performance class primarily in municipal waste water treatment plants or in larger industrial waste water plants.

The UCD 345 is now the fifth member of the new CD-Force family. It is somewhat larger than the popular “Crocodile” UCD 305, and thus advances into the performance range of the 400 mm machines.

The CD-Force decanters have been designed with required customer benefits in mind. These include: improved price/performance ratio, compact design, greater ease of access, better handling for the operating and service personnel and reduced energy consumption. All of these requirements have been consistently implemented.

A high level of components featuring multi-functionality cuts costs. However, this functional integration not only led to a radical facelift, a timeless design, but also to a significant reduction in the number of parts.

Easy service thanks to the pedestal bearing construction
The entire CD family features the so-called “Twin Shell” concept. This means that product catchers and housings are not connected to each other but rather form self-contained units. The result: lower noise levels and less air circulation.

On the decanters UCD 205, UCD 305 and UCD 345 the main motor is located beneath the housing while the secondary motor is mounted on the frame. The drive via V-belts is direct without an intermediary clutch. The compact design facilitates the fast replacement of bowl, scroll and bowl bearings, either individually or as complete assemblies. Exchanging a regulating plate likewise takes only a matter of minutes. The specification was after all lowest possible downtimes and easy service.

With the UCD 345 Westfalia Separator is offering both industry and municipalities an appropriate size for dewatering waste water – all under the aspect of state-of-the- art decanter technology
