From an internship right up to a cooperative study program

An internship is a good opportunity to get to know us better. It gives you the chance to get a feel for our company. You get to meet our people, experience the fascination of mechanical separation technology and can play a part in one or the other project. During this process, you will quickly find out whether GEA Westfalia Separator lives up to your expectations.

We will also gladly inform you about the dual study programme. We will tell you which trades and professions you can combine with which degree courses. You are of course also welcome to apply for a position with us after finishing school without participating in parallel courses of higher education.

We provide training in the following occupations:

  • Plant fitter
    Training duration: 3 1/2 years
    Training location: Oelde
    Plant fitters are involved with the manufacture and assembly of apparatus in production, particularly in process engineering, food technology and power engineering. Maintenance and repair work are also skills taught during the apprenticeship.

  • Industrial mechanic
    Training duration: 3 1/2 years
    Training location: Oelde, Niederahr
    You must be extremely technically minded for this subject area. Your duties primarily involve assembling prefabricated parts to machine tools and other special machines. When you cannot fall back on prefabricated parts, you must manufacture small parts by yourself. Ongoing testing must be carried out before and after commissioning. You work independently or in a team in individual or small parts series. You may also be deployed on site.

  • Metal-cutting operator
    Training location: Oelde, Niederahr

  • Electronics installer
    Training duration: 3 1/2 years
    Training location: Oelde
    Electronics installers erect, install, assemble and service systems for power supply, control, regulation and drive technology as well as signal and illumination engineering. Your skills are very much in demand and you will spend much of your time travelling (at customer sites, in workshops or in the service sector).

  • Construction mechanic
    Training duration: 3 1/2 years
    Training location: Niederahr

  • Material tester
    Training duration: 3 1/2 years
    Training location: Oelde
    Material testers are qualified to test materials and work pieces independently and to alter their properties by means of technological processes. Material testers master the basics of metal processing. Precise knowledge of the previous production and processing steps permit you to analyse the causes of identified defects to obtain indicators of how to eliminate these fault sources. The testing procedures for execution, presentation of results and quality assurance are governed by the pertinent standards or other regulations. 

  • Mechatronics fitter
    Training duration: 3 1/2 years

  • Draftsman
    Training duration: 3 1/2 Jahre
    Training location: Oelde
    Draftsmen work independently in the preparation of technical documents based on design developments. The specifications may be in the form of sketches, drawings altered by hand, drafts, descriptions and oral instructions. They realise the detail and the final status of the specifications. Depending on the area of responsibility and company requirements, there are different emphases and application possibilities. In the areas of CAD/SAP technology, draftsmen are users of the company software. They are responsible for saving the data they have created so it can be further processed. Starting and operating the hardware including the necessary peripheral devices as well as effective use of the software is therefore a main area of responsibility of the draftsman.

  • Computer scientist
    Training duration: 3 years
    Training location: Oelde  
    This new vocation offers interesting tasks for computer freaks. As a member of a project teams, you familiarise yourself with company-specific problems, develop appropriate software solutions and implement them. You have in-depth knowledge of software engineering and software development and use the whole spectrum of modern information and telecommunications technology tight up to multimedia applications. 

  • IT clerk
    Ausbildungsort: Oelde
    Training duration: 3 years
    Training location: Oelde
    This is the right vocation for business-oriented computer freaks. IT clerks ensure that their customers are always provided with the IT solution which helps them to work as efficiently as possible. You are at home in the field of business and management economics but you also know the technical possibilities and limits. You develop customised solutions for the specific branch right up to networks, administrate and co-ordinate and are a contact for specialist departments and manufacturers. 
  • Industrial clerk
    Training duration: 3 years
    Training location: Oelde
    Costing is one of the most important tasks for industrial clerks. You are, for example, responsible for making sure that the firm does not miscalculate when preparing offers. From material procurement to sales, industrial clerks are involved in administrative, calculating and planning tasks. Salary statements and staff support also fall into your area of responsibility.

  • Business economist
    Training duration: 3 years
    Training location: Oelde
    1. stage
    The first stage starts in the autumn and consists of three terms involving in-house training, study at the academy and special teaching at the vocational school. All three training blocks run parallel. The ratio of theory to practice is about 1 : 2.
    2. stage
    The second stage likewise consists of three terms. Practical training in the company and study at the academy again run parallel with a ratio of theory to practice of 1 : 1. At the end of the practical training phase, the participants will be in a position to assume responsible duties in the areas
