The treatment of lube oils is no less important than the pre-treatment of fuels. GEA Westfalia Separator also supplies efficient components for this important preventive task.
Turbine lube oils are continuously contaminated during operation. Extremely fine metal particles from rotating or sliding parts, as well as condensed water and decomposition products, are deposited in the lube oil sump. The worst-case scenario is the threat of plant outage – with all the negative economic consequences involved. Continuous lube oil cleaning using the bypass flow method is recommended to remove every trace of solid contamination and water.
Here, too, separators from GEA Westfalia Separator ensure perfect separation of all solid and liquid foreign substances. The result is smooth operation and low wear at bearing points. The service life of the lube oil is considerably increased, with the result that purchasing and disposal costs for the consumables drop accordingly.
