Thanks to centrifuges of Westfalia Separator, the technology for the recovery of vegetable oils has made major progress right up to the present day. Our separators commenced their successful operation for the recovery of olive oil for example in the early 1950's replacing the lengthy settlement processes. During the 1990's the environmentally-friendly two-phase separation process developed by Westfalia Separator conquered the Spanish market in particular. In order to drastically reduce the consumption of fresh water and therefore the production of effluent we developed the ECO-D Process for the palm oil industry. This new process is virtually effluent-free and features better oil quality and shorter processing time than the conventional process and the direct crude oil process. The intelligent combination of process and engineering know how is the basis for constantly improved oil yields and capacities of the centrifuges of Westfalia Separator.
